Victoria Ung Success Story: From GAP & FC Bardia MSAP to Macarthur Rams GJDL

MFA Design Templates (74)

At just 11 years old, Victoria Ung has already made her mark within Macarthur Football in 2026. Balancing her commitments with her Girls MSAP club, FC Bardia, Victoria has shown exceptional dedication and drive, working tirelessly to develop her skills and progress her game to the next level.

Through 2025/26, Victoria has also been involved in our MFA Player Development Programs. Starting off in our Girls Association Program (GAP), and then being selected into our Macarthur Talent Development Program (TDP). Throughout all programs, her determination and positive attitude have stood out both on and off the pitch. Now, her hard work has paid off — Victoria has earned selection into the Macarthur Rams Girls NPL pathway for 2027!

This exciting opportunity is a testament to her continued growth and commitment, and the MFA proudly celebrates her achievements as part of our collective MFA and club player development pathway.

MFA Player Pathways

Whether she was playing with her dad, watching football on the tv or attending games, Victoria knew she was going to become a footballer. In the 2025 season, Victoria started her football journey and joined the Gunners SC U10 Girls team. She enjoyed the competition she faced and bonded with her teammates to form friendships both on and off the pitch. In a short time, football became a way for Victoria to forget about everything else and focus on having fun and developing her skills.

During the summer period, Victoria attended our Macarthur Girls Association Program (GAP), where she showed off her footballing abilities and worked alongside other young girls to develop her skills. Led by female coaching staff, she joined the program because she wanted to improve her skills, spend more time playing football and have an extra training day. Mostly, it was because she loves football and as a girls-only program, meant she could also spend some time with her friends playing the game she loves!

In the 2026 season, she trialed for FC Bardia’s U12 MSAP Girls side, where despite playing a year-up, she excitingly got into the team. She enjoyed the challenge that the MSAP league brought such as the intensity and increased skill level. It was even more fun playing with girls who have good ball skills, and she made many new friends in the team. Victoria mostly played central midfield where she loves to score goals, set up chances for her teammates and most importantly, defend. As a midfielder it can be intense and quite chaotic, but Victoria is calm and happy when she plays. She was proud of how much she improved only in her second season of football. She is also particularly thankful to her coaches, Andrew and Mick, who taught her football skills, always wanted her to get better and challenged her to help her get to where she is now.

Alongside her success in playing Girls MSAP, Victoria was picked for the Macarthur Talent Development Program (TDP). As 1 of 20 players selected in her U11 Girls age-group, Victoria loved the training and especially the 9v9 matches against Girls JDL representative teams. She states the program offered her a great insight into what it takes to make it to the next level and it helped her own individual development, as well as exposure opportunities in front of representative coaches (in the games).

At the end of the 2026 season, Victoria identified by Macarthur Rams Girls JDL and for the 2027 season, Victoria will excitingly be a part of the Macarthur Rams Girls JDL U12 team. Through both her FC Bardia MSAP commitments and her Macarthur GAP & TDP participation, she has worked very hard and acknowledges she couldn't have done it without the support of her parents, friends and coaches. She felt so happy and excited to be selected for the Rams JDL U12 Girls squad, and she is very grateful for the chance. One day, she hopes to become a professional footballer and she is very much on the front foot with that aspiration. We congratulate Victoria’s success and hope to see her professional football dreams come true on day!

Off the pitch, Victoria watches the Premier League, Champions League and some local A-league games. Victoria was taken to her first Chelsea game in Perth back in 2018. She now supports Chelsea alongside her dad. Victoria looks up to Aitana Bonmatí, Ellie Carpenter and Jude Bellingham. Bonmatí and Bellingham are playmakers who control the speed of the game, which is what Victoria tries to achieve as a central midfielder. Ellie Carpenter is a strong defender with lots of energy and a fast recovery, and that helps in midfield too.

From playing grassroots football with Gunners SC and FC Bardia, to participating in the Macarthur GAP & TDP, and now representing Macarthur Rams GJDL for the 2027 season, Victoria has worked hard to achieve what many other players dream of. She has not just developed her own abilities; she is setting the standard for future players who will follow in her footsteps.

We are incredibly proud of Victoria's progress throughout 2025/26 and look forward to seeing her continue to thrive in the years ahead. Her story serves as an inspiration to young footballers across the Macarthur region and a reminder that with belief and dedication, the possibilities are limitless.
