Lynwood Park, a famous venue in the Macarthur Football Association catchment area, has been buzzing with energy since the introduction of the very popular TAFE NSW Summer Football competitions that kicked off recently.

With over 86 participants playing in the Men’s competition and 42 in the Mixed category, indications are there that the Summer Football concept has really hit the ground running in the Macarthur area.

The eight-week competition with added finals series rounds has really encouraged football lovers within the area in keeping themselves fit and healthy in a happy and safe environment as stated by Macarthur Football Association General Manager Salv Carmusciano.

“In anticipation for the upcoming Grassroots Football season, Summer Football is a great way to warm up for the year in a fun, social and modified version of the world game.

“The modified rules and smaller fields allow everyone of all abilities and skill sets to enjoy the game with their friends and families.

“It is also a great way to meet new people who also have a love for the game or people who are just beginning their journey in Football.”

Football NSW Game Development Officer Trevor Huxley congratulated Macarthur Football Association’s progress in the Summer Football footprint in growing the game.

“It’s been great seeing the Summer Football concept in Macarthur grow from strength to strength as we anticipate that even more players will register in years moving forward.

“We would like to thank TAFE NSW for their ongoing support of our Summer Football programs and we would like to wish all our participants the best of luck in their matches leading into the finals at Macarthur.”
