At just 12 years of age, Austin Kelly has already demonstrated maturity, commitment, and a genuine love for football, qualities that have underpinned a standout year of development in 2025.
Balancing his local club commitments with Camden Falcons FC, Austin took part in two MFA player development programs throughout the year. He began his journey in Terms 1 and 2 with the Macarthur Rams Academy, where his consistent effort and positive attitude were quickly recognised. This progression was rewarded with selection into the Macarthur Talent Development Program (TDP) for Terms 3 and 4.
Across both programs, Austin was an integral member of his squads. His friendly nature, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn stood out both on and off the pitch, making him a pleasure to coach and a valued teammate. As he now looks ahead to 2026, Austin’s football journey is only just beginning.
Austin’s love for the game began at the age of five when he joined the Camden Tigers FC. Encouraged by his mother, he played alongside his cousin under the guidance of his uncle, who was also the coach. He spent his early years at Camden Tigers from U5 to U8 before stepping away from football to focus on rugby union. However, his passion for the round ball never faded, and he eventually returned to football in the U10 and U11 age groups, once again playing alongside his cousin.
A team-oriented player, Austin thrives on building friendships and values the sense of belonging football provides. Away from the pitch, he is a keen follower of the game, idolising Neymar Jr and supporting Chelsea and Macarthur FC.
Austin joined Camden Falcons FC to play alongside his school friends and compete in his correct age group, where he quickly made an impression. After previously playing up an age group, he earned selection into the Camden Falcons U12 Division 1 side, a testament to his ability and commitment. His strong sense of family and group connection continues to shape his character both as a player and as a person.
The Rams Academy proved to be a pivotal step in Austin’s development. Commencing in the off-season, the program provided him with additional coaching, new skills, and a significant boost in confidence. During this time, Austin made the decision to focus solely on football, stepping away from rugby union to fully commit to his development.

Further demonstrating his passion for the game, Austin also completed his referee course through MDFRA and has since begun officiating small-sided games, an experience he has thoroughly enjoyed.
Austin valued the opportunity to train alongside other motivated players in the Rams Academy, noting the strong sense of sportsmanship and the welcoming environment created by both coaches and players. This positive culture allowed him to thrive and grow in confidence.
His efforts were again rewarded when he was selected in the inaugural Macarthur Talent Development Program squads for Term 3. As part of the TDP, Austin embraced the opportunity to further challenge himself, develop new skills, and grow as a player. The engaging training environment and guidance from coaches had a lasting impact, motivating him to continually improve.
In Term 4, Austin’s commitment and attitude were formally recognised when he received the TDP Spirit of the Game Award for his U13 2026 squad, a fitting acknowledgement of his dedication and sportsmanship.
Among his many football memories, Austin’s standout moment remains scoring a goal from halfway line while playing U11s with Camden Falcons FC. As a fan, one of his highlights has been watching Chelsea win the FIFA Club World Cup.
At the Macarthur Football Association, we are proud to create pathways that allow players like Austin to learn, grow, and reach their potential. His journey highlights what can be achieved through passion, perseverance, and the right development environment.
We are incredibly proud of Austin Kelly’s progress throughout 2025 and look forward to seeing him continue to thrive in the years ahead. His story serves as an inspiration to young footballers across the Macarthur region and a reminder that with belief and dedication, the possibilities are limitless.
