Over the past week, the Macarthur region has experienced significant rainfall, resulting in saturated grounds across the area. As a result, local councils have now officially closed grounds.
This has a direct impact on the start of our finals series for the majority of competition teams and the scheduled MiniRoos Gala Days planned across the association this weekend.
After thorough assessment and with heavy hearts, Macarthur Football Association has made the following decisions:
🏆 Finals Series Format Update
To ensure we are still able to complete our finals within the seasonal hire period for fields, the format will be reduced from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. Finals will now proceed as follows:
Semi-Finals (Week 1):
1st vs 4th
2nd vs 3rd
Grand Finals (Week 2):
Winners from each Semi-Final will progress to the Grand Final
⚽ MiniRoos Gala Days Cancelled
All MiniRoos Gala Days scheduled for 2025 have been cancelled. We understand how much our young players and families look forward to these events, and this decision has not been made lightly.
👟 M-League and MYL Competitions
The M-League and Macarthur Youth League (MYL) competitions will continue as planned:
⚽Boys’ MYL and M-League Men finals began last weekend and will continue into round 2 this weekend
⚽Girls’ MYL and M-League Women finals will commence this weekend
All M-League and MYL matches will be relocated to the two synthetic, all-weather pitches in Macarthur, Lynwood Park and Nott Oval.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these weather challenges. Our team is working hard to ensure all remaining fixtures can be delivered in the safest and fairest way possible.
Kind regards,
Paul Bertolissio
General Manager
