Walking Football is set to take centre stage at Nott Oval, Narellan as Macarthur Football Association prepare for yet another blockbuster season.
Kicking off on Sunday the 21st of February, the 6-week program is poised to further promote a different but exciting format of the world game, with Macarthur FA’s Josh Tungcab looking forward to the new Walking Football program ahead.
“It is exciting to bring this program to the Macarthur region and give all people an opportunity to play football in a fun and social environment.
“it provides participants a platform to keep physically active while being able to socialise and make new friends.
“This program is great for not only the physical attributes, but also promotes confidence, self-esteem and friendships which in turn supports the mental wellbeing of participants.
“The target of the program is for the community aged 45 and above, but we welcome all ages and really see this as a great family-friendly event.”
Football NSW Clubs and Participation Coordinator Trevor Huxley was equally as excited.
“It’s great to see Macarthur jump on board with this fantastic program.
“Walking Football is something I truly believe in, an offering that engages beginners and veterans alike”.
Following on from the come and try on the 21st, the program will continue:
