As part of Female Football Week, we are shining a spotlight on the incredible women shaping football in Macarthur, not just on the pitch, but in leadership, governance, and behind-the-scenes roles.
Today, we’re proud to feature Michelle, a true multi-role contributor: player, committee member at Campbelltown Uniting Church SC, and newly appointed Director on the Macarthur Football Association Board, where she focuses on grants and marketing.

Michelle’s football journey began at just six years old on the Central Coast, inspired by the love of the game she saw in her dad and brother.
“I wanted to be just like them,” she shares.
Fast forward to today, Michelle’s experience spans playing, refereeing, coaching, and club volunteering, a testament to her deep, lifelong connection to the sport. She’s coached teams across men’s, women’s, and mixed competitions, as well as running female football programs and goalkeeper clinics.
This year, Michelle stepped up to serve on the MFA Board, driven by a powerful purpose.
“I was once told I didn’t belong in football — that girls couldn’t play, it was only for boys. Now, I’m proud to help build a game aiming for everyone to have an equal chance to play, lead, and thrive.”
In her board role, Michelle focuses on helping identify and secure resources through grants and raising football’s profile through marketing, with the goal of expanding opportunities and making the game more accessible to all.
At the club level, she finds joy in the friendships and community at Campbelltown Uniting Church SC, a place where she can both play and give back as a committee member.
When asked why it’s so important to have more women in football leadership roles, Michelle puts it beautifully:
“Football thrives on diversity, and its leadership should reflect the communities it serves. Diverse voices drive innovation, accountability, and inspire the next generation. Women bring unique experiences and perspectives that help shape fairer, stronger programs and environments — both on and off the field.”

Her advice to other women thinking of stepping into leadership or volunteering?
“Believe in your value and trust that your voice matters in football. Don’t wait for permission to step forward. Seek mentors, build your network, and take up space in the rooms where change happens. Every contribution counts, and the game grows stronger with more women involved — not just on the pitch, but in decision-making roles too.”
Thank you, Michelle, for your passion, leadership, and the example you set for women and girls across our Macarthur football community.
